FAMILY REUNION

Here are some select photos from the family reunion.

The hot tub was a daily favorite. Even despite the visual film of biohazard. (Note Spencer giving himself rabbit ears.)

Three Watergun-ateers.

Tate and Mia.

This photo of Benny would be a sure blue ribbon entry at the Jerome County Fair.

Someone found the ice cream.

Boxáta!

Nobody told Spencer that those goggles are intended for swimming purposes.

Everyone's favorite uncle.

A Great Idea

I discovered this great idea yesterday. Instead of sending Hailey flowers that will look pretty for a couple days and then die, I decided to send her an Edible Arrangement.

But then again, I think real flowers would have lasted longer as the special delivery was quickly devoured by the little ones.

Slip N' Shred

What is better than a slip n slide on a hot day in July! This has ER written all over it....well except for Benny, I don't think he is breaking any speed records (that is about as far as he made it everytime).

WIPEOUT

There's a new obsession in the Number Five household. Well, at least with the father in said household. And what is this obsession? It's a show on Tuesday nights on ABC called WIPEOUT. The premise is pretty simple - Full grown adults being timed as they make their way through the most ridiculous obstacle course ever. The show has only aired four episodes so far and something tells me it's a show that won't be sticking around for long so if you haven't seen it, check it out. Here is a youtube vid with highlights from the first episode.

Matt Gets Dissed while Working on the Dissertation!

Poor Matt! I can just see him typing away relentlessly on his dissertation, while Shayla, Tate, Avery, and I were sitting in the lap of luxury getting pedicures today. I even got a 60 minute massage while waiting for the girls to finish up. I guess the new version of the old saying is now, "While the cat's home slaving away, the mice run off and play!" Well, I guess I don't feel too guilty after putting on a huge garage sale this weekend, packing for 5 girls- including me (not an easy task), cleaning the house, and flying in the middle of the night to NY with 4 girls all by myself- not getting a wink of sleep. To say the least, I am exhausted!

Just wanted to say thanks again for a great retreat in South Dakota. It was great to see all the couziz together. We had a ball! Take Care and we will send another posting soon with some NY pictures.

Love,
The RexBabs

Baseball Days

Thanks to Steve for setting up the family Blog! I am a little nervous, I know that sounds silly but this is the first "Blog" I have ever written. I guess having 4 kids has set me back a few years. But I guess that it is time to join in and let you all in on our exciting life here in Minnesota. So I will start with my first subject being the kids last baseball game of the season. Tony was their coach and I think he did a great job. I was not able to attend all of the games due to a little 18 month old who doesn't like to sit still. The weather was so humid on the last game Tony walked around and sprayed all the kids with a spray bottle...I think it was secretly a way for him to get back at all of them for hitting him in various body parts with the ball.

Here is a new recipes that is really good
SWEET SUMMER FRUIT BRUSCHETTA

1/4 cup butter, softened

DIRECTIONS
Lay the baguette slices in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Stir together the butter, 4 tablespoons brown sugar and cinnamon and spread on one side of each baguette slice. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes or until bubbly and bread is lightly browned on the edges. Stir together the remaining brown sugar, fruit and lime juice in a small bowl. Spoon equal amounts over the bread slices and sprinkle with walnuts.
I didn't use the walnuts, we all thought it was good.
WEll...this is funner that I thought it would be, thanks again Steve!
