Suprise guest

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We spent the day all by ourselves cooking, eating, movie going, sleeping, pie eating. It was a really nice day. Tony woke up early to go and play football with the ward guys and now is limping around like an old man, it happens every year.

The excitement happened after we ate lunch I wrapped up all the leftovers and put some in the fridge and the others I put outside on the deck. Later that night Tony went to outside to get the leftovers and the sweet potatoes had been attacked by something. He thought it smelled like dog! It was so gross. He threw them away (sob, sob) . So I was sitting in the kitchen and I saw something out of the corner of my eye. I looked on the deck and it was a POSSUM! The kids ran to the sliding glass door and it just sat there, it wasn't even scared. We of course had removed all the food so he turned around and waddled off. Then about 10 minutes later he came back hoping that the food would be there again. The kids want to keep him as a pet. At least I know he liked my food!

Nanie is 2

Well the day has finally arrived...the terrible 2's! I don't know if or when it will hit but I'm hoping by some small miracle it will pass her by. She is still full of love and sweetness. Thank goodness we got a little girl!

Halloween in Colorado

This year Berlin was Hannah Montana and James was a spider. They were both spoiled with way too many parties this year, including church parties, school parties and even a kids party at my work. Needless to say, mom and dad have stowed away the majority of candy for redistribution at Christmas.

Happy Halloween

Here are the pic's of the kids costumes. We had an unseasonably warm night so that meant the kids didn't want to quit, thus huge amounts of candy...slowly it will dissapear into the trash :).

The Week of Birthdays!

Nic got his much wanted ribstik and a justin morneau jersey

I don't know what Tony and I were thinking! We have 3 birthdays in 3 weeks. Nic and Spencer celebrated this week and Jane is coming up in November.

So in our house the kids can have friend parties every other year until they are 7 and then after that they can invite a couple friends to go and do something fun. This was Spencer's last hurrah and let me tell you he made it worth it. I think he invited 12 kids and almost all but 2 came. I was hoping more couldn't make it...but anyway. So I started stressing about it weeks ago trying to figure out how we could make it fun. Most kids here rent out the bowling alley or the community pool for their parties and I didn't want to do that...now looking back it would of been a good thing. The boys showed up and immediately starting hanging on the railing and jumping on the couches and of course dogpileing. What is up with BOYS! Tony rigged up a hay ride and took them out while I got the lunch ready. To my suprise only half the kids liked hotdogs and carrot sticks. So they had to eat chips. There were 2 naughty little twins that would only eat chips and they mostly just crushed them into tiny pieces and then dumped them on the floor.

So after lunch Tony took them on a treasure hunt through the neighborhood on the hayride. That was fun, the treasure led them back to our house where they found silly string. You can guess what happened next....

After all the festivities they came in for donut cake and hot chocolate....then it was time for parents to come...Yay! I think Ben and Jane are going to have it a little differents. Only a few friends not the whole class. But that is Spenc, mister social.
All in all we survived the week and learned a lesson. Thanks goodness for a day of rest!
