Fun Times with the Mishes

We had a blast in Chicago!  I hope all of you get a chance to go and visit.  Mom made a killer chocolate clake.  As you can see we located the Home Alone house (one of my kids favorite movies).  Thanks mom and dad for a great time!

Holidome Sweet Home

I came up to Pocatello for meetings today and tomorrow. No Burger King run for Whoppers or racing plastic lids down the windy street for fun. No golf cart rides around the trailer court or frozen fart jokes from Uncle Don shared over a bucket of KFC. However, I did walk through the Holidome on the way to my room. What was the attraction of the Holidome when we were young? It was like an Astro Turf-covered Mecca of video games, ping-pong, and mini-golf. How many trips to Boise or Poky for state sporting events included a stay at the hallowed Holidome? Sadly, all that remains is the swimming pool. The game room has been turned into a sports bar.

Our phone rang last night.  I heard this deep male voice on the other end of the line say......"grandpa, I got my driver's permit today".  It was a cool, casual voice.....very much in control.  A flood of memories, and thoughts of a red and white VW van raced through my mind.  Today, I feel a little older, and hopefully wiser.   Keep going Ethan......but be careful and try to be..."wiser than we have been"  (quote from Moroni)

Bubs in the paper

Liz sent out an email last night with a link to a newspaper article about the Grantsville High School soccer team. Ethan made the paper! He n realizes that he must back up the hype with his play. Yesterday's season opener was cancelled due to snow, rescheduled for Saturday.
